Museum Committed to Serving Community

PHILADELPHIA MUSEUM OF ART OPEN TO PUBLIC FRIDAY, SEPTEMBER 16

September 15, 2022  - Philadelphia, PA – The Philadelphia Museum of Art will remain open to the public on September 16, despite plans for a one-day work stoppage announced by one of the unions representing museum employees. Managers will be on site to welcome visitors.

When eligible staff voted to unionize, the museum immediately and unequivocally pledged to negotiate in good faith and has done so. Agreement has been reached on more than 25 substantive issues and negotiations continue.

The museum remains focused on reaching a fair and appropriate contract in the best interest of the staff, the museum, and all Philadelphians.
