Museum Announces Special Admission Offer for Final Month of Rising Up: Rocky and the Making of Monuments

Philadelphia, June 29, 2026 – The Philadelphia Art Museum (PMA) is pleased to offer access to all special exhibitions for the cost of general admission for the final month of Rising Up: Rocky and the Making of Monuments exhibition. From July 2 through August 2, admission will include full access to all museum galleries and special exhibitions at no additional charge.

“We have always delighted in seeing how visitors to Philadelphia flock to the Rocky statue on the museum steps. Rising Up has offered deeper engagement with the statue and launched conversations around art, sports, popular culture, and the role of monuments,” said Daniel Weiss, George D. Widener Director and CEO of the Philadelphia Museum of Art, “As Semiquincentennial celebrations and World Cup matches, and watch parties continue this summer, providing even more access to Rising Up in its final weeks, and all museum spaces, reaffirms the museum’s commitment to being an inclusive place for everyone.”

In addition to Rising Up, visitors will also enjoy access to ongoing special exhibitions including A Nation of Artists, an exhibition uniting three collections of American art—the Philadelphia Museum of Art the Pennsylvania Academy of the Fine Arts, and the Middleton Family Collection, and Van Gogh’s Sunflowers: A Symphony in Blue and Yellow, which brings together two Sunflower paintings, one from the National Gallery, London and one from the PMA’s collection. Opening July 12, Workshop of the World: Arts and Crafts in Philadelphia will explore the city’s distinctive contributions to the Arts and Crafts movement following the Centennial Exposition of 1876, when artists, designers, and craftspeople working across media sought to address the perceived aesthetic decline and social problems that they traced to industrialization.

The Philadelphia Museum of Art has a world-class collection for visitors from around the world to see. The museum will continue to offer Pay What You Wish admission on Friday evenings through September 4, 2026 (5:00–8:45 p.m.) and admission for the first Sunday of every month is always Pay What You Wish. Accessibility is and will remain a priority.

To ensure that everyone is welcome, the art museum offers various discounts for seniors, students, and youth. General museum admission for adults is $30. Children 18 and under are always free.
